In other words he didn't want to be put off by unnecessarily difficult arrangements. Good quality arrangements faithful to the original would be fine. And no showboating from a musician that he would never emulate in a million years.

But he knew that his performance would improve over time. So what about continuing to benefit from the DVD even after he has improved? What would happen if he wanted to go beyond the arrangement on the DVD?

This is Paul Shead. A very accomplished guitar player.

He has bought a LOT of tuition DVD's and videos. He loves them. And he's learned a lot from them.

They weren't all good. Some concentrated too heavily on technical stuff. Some were really, REALLY boring.

He loved the ones that taught him to play like the greats. Steve Vai, Ry Cooder, Jimi Hendrix and so on. But in reality he doesn't want to play exactly like them. He is just influenced by them.

For a long time Paul has wanted to buy a DVD that helps him practice live performance. He has known it would need some very specific features. First of all it would need to feature full length songs that were worth learning. There would need to be lots of resources. And it would have to be both "accessible" and "scaleable".

So Paul teamed up with Andy Wilson and together we have created Gigmeister. An interactive music tuition DVD that works at your pace.

Once you have selected your instrument from the opening menu, everything is geared around you. Choose one of the 4 classic rock songs and then select a resource to work with. Instrument Panel, Musician Interview or Gig with the band.

The idea is to learn the song first by using the Instrument Panel and watching the musician interview. While you're working with the Instrument Panel you can choose from 3 full length backing tracks as well as watch the on screen resources to get just the right amount of help that you need.

Once you've learned the track choose "Gig with the band" which fires up the live performance video with the full backing track and play along with this. But it's only a video. There will be no on screen resources to help this time other than the live footage.

When you are confident, select "Gig In the band" and this fires up the same video but minus your instrument on the backing track. This final stage lets you really nail that live performance and go beyond the version we have arranged for you.

If you want to change the arrangement for your instrument you just go right ahead. The band is very accomodating.

This combination of features and resources, together with the live performance emulation means that you can enjoy Gigmeister for years to come.
